Ways forward Seas of Change Initiative
During the Seas of Change workshop we collectively generated suggestions on where attention is needed for moving forward. That resulted in the list below, which generated a great deal of energy and many ideas for follow-up. After the workshop a smaller group met to discuss first steps in taking these ideas forward and a range of businesses and organizations agreed to take follow-up action. A more detailed report will be made available on this website shortly. Pictures, videos, interviews and other output will be published here as well on a short notice.
- Strengthening the intermediary function (trusted/ethical coordination) agents/platforms
- Informing and shaping supportive policies at all levels
- Progressing a “new certification” agenda
- Creating mechanisms for collaborative finance in particular pre-commercial phase and risk sharing
- Increasing effectiveness of public private partnership mechanisms
- Strengthening agri-cluster/networked businesses initiatives
- Improving mechanisms for joint learning and research between all groups
- Monitoring and assessing social impact
- Deepening understanding and capacity across business, government, producer organizations knowledge institutes and NGOs
